Ever Heard of Slop Pop?

This has been a big week for music with big releases coming from Father John Misty, Kendrick Lamar, and Oh Wonder (check those songs here), but our Song of the Week has to go to “Blob Zombie” by Diet Cig, an energetic Slop-Pop duo out of NY.

The track comes off their first album “Swear I’m Good at This” and embodies the fun-loving dance niche of the indie-punk scene. The song describes the universal feeling of wanting to succeed yet lacking the energy, but in execution sounds the opposite. Diet Cig’s raw energy and simple-but-clean arrangements make for a solid argument to fight that feeling and dance around.
