New Music from Fleet Foxes
Had you asked a month ago, I would have told you it was impossible: Fleet Foxes was never going to come back. After six years, the release of “Third of May / Ōdaigahara” has made me thrilled to be proven wrong.
This new track dives straight into it, as if no time at all has passed. Frontman Robin Pecknold manages beautifully to weave a layered and mature sound while maintaining the classically complex compositions that first made Fleet Foxes a champion of contemporary folk. The album won’t be released until mid-June, but that leaves plenty of time for us to parse this song’s many layers.
