Summer House
Since it’s (finally) starting to warm up, I wanted to put together a group of classic house tracks that remind me of the summer time. Pulling heavily from the late 80s, 90s, and early 00s, this playlist is designed to make you move with its infectious four-to-the-floor-based tracks. It features some well-known artists like Daft Punk, Modjo, and Duck Sauce, as well as some underplayed tracks that I’ve discovered over the years.
Some personal favorites on here for me are "Music Sounds Better with You" by Stardust, one of the early stage names of Daft Punk member Thomas Bangalter. This is the song I credit as my introduction to house. "The Weekend" by Michael Gray is a British house classic that never quite made it across the pond. Lastly, "The Bomb" by Kenny Dope pulls from the Chicago classic, Street Players, one of the most sampled tracks in electronica. My hope is that this playlist gets you moving and grooving for the summer, so grab some friends and get out there and dance!
